Premium Research is a core partner in the PortWaste project, which aims to transform waste management in ports by promoting digitalisation, sustainability, and traceability throughout the entire process—from ship to final treatment.

The project, financed with a budget of 235.000€, pursues the following main objectives:

• Improve operational efficiency and sustainability in port waste management.
• Ensure traceability through advanced technologies such as blockchain and IoT.
• Facilitate compliance with European regulations on the reception of ship-generated waste.
• Promote the circular economy within the port environment.

The project is led by Blue Room Innovation, which is developing digital solutions to ensure full traceability and digitalisation of the waste management process.

Premium Research is responsible for developing Machine Learning algorithms aimed at analysing key performance indicators (KPIs) and predicting the efficiency of port waste management operators.

Aquaterra contributes its expertise in environmental solutions and waste management, while the Smart Tech cluster acts as an innovation hub, connecting tech companies and facilitating knowledge transfer across the sector.
